Riding for the Disabled Association
Oliver Wight has been supporting the RDA for six years, predominantly through sponsorship of the National Championships, which this year takes place on 14th - 16th July 2017 at Hartpury College in Gloucestershire.
The RDA is a UK charity dedicated to improving the lives of thousands of people through education, therapy and fun. The charity is reliant on voluntary help, donations and legacies to deliver its services. All the riders are an inspiration - they achieve fantastic things despite the challenges they face every day in their lives. Many of the British Paralympic team members have been RDA riders.
In a recent visit by some of the RDA team including a rider, Dawn, we learnt how difficult it can be to find suitable horses, epecially for adult riders. So we were delighted to be able to offer our support by buying a new horse for the riders at Lowlands Farm in Warwickshire.
Willow is an 11 year old mare who arrived at the stables in July 2016. This was just in time for a royal visit from HRH and RDA President, Princess Anne, to mark the opening of Charley's House and the unveiling of "Charley", the mechanical horse, named after a much-loved RDA rider.
