Oliver Wight supports RDA funding new horse, Willow

Oliver Wight is delighted to welcome 11 year old horse, Willow to her new home at Riding for the Disabled Association’s (RDA) Lowland farm in Warwickshire. The latest donation is part of our ongoing support for the charity, which is dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities through horse riding, carriage driving and hippotherapy.

The Oliver Wight team went along on the 13th July to see the mare make her grand entrance during a royal visit to Lowlands by RDA President, HRH The Princess Royal. Specially chosen for her temperament and size, Willow seemed unfazed by the royal occasion and took all the attention in her stride.

We have been sponsoring RDA for a number of years and we’re still inspired by the riders and their achievements. After learning how difficult it can be to find suitable horses, especially for adult riders, we were delighted to offer our support by donating the funds for the RDA to purchase a new horse.

“We are so grateful to Oliver Wight for their continued support for the RDA,” said Sal Atkinson, Fundraising Manager at RDA. “For the past four years their sponsorship of the main marquee at our National Championship has made a massive difference to the event and the quality of experience we provide to competitors and their families.

“Their latest donation shows their understanding of the challenges faced by many of our groups as they struggle to find suitable horses for adult riders. Willow will be a great addition to Lowlands Farm – and she is sure to be a big hit with the group’s riders.”
