Meet the Team – Emma Martin

Approachable, optimistic and calm – three words to describe our Senior Campaigns and Events Marketing Executive, Emma Martin. Learn more about her role at Oliver Wight in this blog.

When did you join Oliver Wight?

I’ve very recently joined Oliver Wight as part of the Marketing Team – February 2026.

Tell us about yourself! What does your day-to-day role at Oliver Wight involve?

As well as helping to roll out quarterly marketing campaigns a big part of my role is coordinating our events programme, both large in-person events and smaller virtual workshops. This includes planning and organisation, attending the events, through to post evaluation. I’m looking forward to being a hands-on member of the team.

What attracted you to the role?

Although I’ve worked in various marketing functions I’ve always been passionate about Events. Using my organisational project management skills to their best effect whilst also meeting new people is the best combination I can think of.

Prior to joining the Oliver Wight team what did you do?

I’ve always worked in Marketing, but have been lucky enough to take on a variety of roles throughout my career – including Direct Mail, Email Campaigns, Trade Marketing and Brand Marketing.

I’ve most recently taken on a range of freelance projects but have missed working in a dedicated team on longer-term projects so I’m very happy that I’ve joined Oliver Wight.

What three words best describe you?

Approachable, optimistic and calm.

What is your idea of a utopian workplace?

Collaboration, friendliness and a feeling of purpose. I think these three aspects make coming to work enjoyable and rewarding. I like to gain a sense of achievement through my work, but being part of a team that supports each other is also very important.

I would also like to add to the mix plenty of iced coffee and chocolate!

What emoji best represents you?

The Heart emoji – I wear my heart on my sleeve!

What are your interests outside of work?

I really enjoy reading. My degree is in Literature so I appreciate the classics, but the books I choose most regularly are actually a Miss Marple or Poirot.

I love pottering around country gardens at the weekend and exploring new towns and villages – I’m always on the search for the perfect coffee and cake.

You’re an animal for a day – what are you and why?

I love the sun and I love strawberries. I have an idea that being a dormouse on the perfect English summer’s day, waking up to eat berries and snoozing in the sunshine, would be an ideal way to spend the day.

Share with us the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given.

To be kind to yourself and to speak to yourself only as you would accept your best friend being spoken to.
