Meet The Team – Willem Vesters

We are delighted to welcome Willem Vesters to the Oliver Wight EAME team as our newest Partner. Learn more about Willem in this blog!

When did you join Oliver Wight?

I joined Oliver Wight on January 1st, 2024.

Tell us about yourself! What does your day-to-day role at Oliver Wight involve?

That is a good question. Being in the business for a month now, this is still very much evolving. As an Oliver Wight Partner, my day-to-day role will consist of client work which, of course, requires the right preparation. I’ll also be working on some internal projects, including the implementation of a brand-new CRM. As for now, I am doing a significant amount of learning!

What attracted you to the role?

The Oliver Wight model, working with experienced like-minded people, and the field of expertise. This, in combination with the independent character that you have and being more in control of your destiny, made it a perfect fit for me.

Prior to joining the Oliver Wight team what did you do?

Prior to Oliver Wight, I have been active in quite a variety of industries and business segments. From B2B to B2C, from manufacturing to wholesale, and from telco to medical equipment. Always dealing with supply chain, procurement, or operations and always focused on managing change for a better business outcome.

What three words best describe you?

If you ask my wife: clumsy, lazy, unpractical.

If you ask others: accountable, problem-solving, stress-free.

What is your idea of a utopian workplace?

Doing the things you (mostly) like, while being respected for who you are. This is something that is already in place, so I am a pretty happy person.

What emoji best represents you?

What are your interests outside of work?

Coaching of my kids in sports, watching good movies, spending holidays with the family, and fixing broken stuff.

You’re an animal for a day – what are you and why?

An elephant, what’s not to like?

Share with us the best piece of advice you’ve ever been given.

If it’s not broken, don’t fix it and count your blessings.
