Lessons learned and insights gained: a recap of events in 2023

In 2023, Oliver Wight EAME attended 7 events across the region. We attend events to not only network with clients and prospective clients, but to offer education and insights into our expertise within the IBP, S&OP, Demand Planning, and Supply Chain spaces.
As a business, we are proud of the thought leadership we have to share and thoroughly enjoy engaging with audiences face-to-face – this is where those relationships we work hard on online really come to life!
In January Flavio attended the Savant Supply Chain Congress in Amsterdam where he hosted a Best-in-Class presentation on “Building an Intelligent and Resilient Integrated Business Planning Process”.
May took the team to London where Les joined Dave Food from Board on stage at Board Beyond, hosted at the Science Museum. They presented on “Transforming your business through Integrated Business Planning”, bringing insights from process and technology and how the two marry up. This was the first event we attended with Board in 2023, beginning promotions of Oliver Wight IBP Powered by Board.
The Gartner Supply Chain Symposium, Barcelona in June was our largest event by far in 2023, with Monte presenting an incredibly impactful session on “Information to decision: Behavior, Empowerment and Integration are key”. This was the busiest session of the day! You can see a snippet from his presentation here.
At this event we were able to host a number of clients and meet lots of interesting people within the Supply Chain industry. Board were also in attendance, so we were able to give delegates another teaser look at the solution ahead of launch.
In September, we attended our second partnered event with Board, the Intent Group meeting, where Neil hosted an insightful roundtable discussion on “IBP – challenges to realizing the potential”.
Neil lead this discussion with Board’s IBP expert, Dave Food, talking about real-life case studies and encouraging delegates to interact with the session by pin pointing their current business challenges.
Andy and Gary attended the Connect SCOPE and CFO events in Twickenham at the end of October, where they were able to meet with delegates who had specific IBP needs and problems to solve. These meetings were hosted within Twickenham Stadium where the team were able to join delegates on a stadium tour and network throughout sessions.

In November we travelled to Berlin and Amsterdam with Birgit hosting the keynote session at the CPG Supply Chain Connect and Lucy delivering a preliminary presentation at the 8th S&OP to Integrated Business Planning Summit.
Birgit and the Oliver Wight expertise were highly celebrated at the CPG Supply Chain Connect with her session on “How to take your S&OP to the next level of true IBP, beyond forecast accuracy, and achieving full financial integration to tackle inflation, customer and consumer challenges so you stay ahead even in volatile markets” being one of the highest attended of the day. She was among many inspiring women in Supply Chain!
Lucy presented on “Leading from the top down: How to gain and maintain executive support for S&OP/IBP” at the 8th S&OP to IBP summit, discussing the components of decision-making and how executive behavior and buy-in are crucial factors of IBP success. She also hosted an insightful round table discussion, giving delegates opportunities to ask their most pressing questions in a more intimate environment.
Each year we attend and sponsor several events and each one is integral to our team and business success. Events give us opportunities to discuss problems head-on and offer advice and possible solutions!
