What prompted your decision to join Oliver Wight?

Having completed my first year at the University of Greenwich I felt I needed to gain more experience in the business environment. I’d heard about apprenticeship schemes from television and believed this route could work for me. So, I applied for an apprenticeship with Oliver Wight.

 

How have you found it?

In the 11 months I’ve been working at Oliver Wight I have been given many opportunities to progress and supported in developing my professional as well as personal skills. Changing my career development plans was a big decision, but the best one I have ever made.

 

Tell us about yourself – what does your day to day role at Oliver Wight involve?

My day to day job at Oliver Wight involves working as a part of a talented team. I make sure the background activities are running smoothly so that the team can function at their best. I also like to have a laugh, as they say, laughter is the best medicine!

 

How long have you worked for Oliver Wight?

I’m on a three-year apprenticeship scheme and will have been here for a year in March.

 

What did you do before joining the EAME team?

I worked in retail for a few years whilst completing my studies. I enjoyed the fast-paced environment and interacting with people.

 

What are three words that best describe you?

Bubbly, unique and considerate.

 

What’s your idea of a utopian workplace?

A hot country with a chilled drinks fridge beside me.

 

Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Live each day like it’s your last and with no regrets, you never know when your time is up.

 

You’re an animal for a day – what are you and why?

Guinea pig - I can eat and socialise all day!

 

What are your interests outside of work?

I am part of a local wargaming club, we meet up on Tuesdays to socialise. Activities range from board games to miniature wargaming. I also like to play video games such as Dota 2, Overwatch and World of Warcraft, these also require teamwork.

 

What’s your favourite part of working for Oliver Wight?

Working with a highly intelligent group of people who have a passion for delivering the best services to our clients.
