Tell us about yourself – what does your day to day role at Oliver Wight involve?

My role at Oliver Wight EAME as Commercial Director is to support the company growth. I oversee a number of teams including sales, marketing and events, and have a variety of responsibilities. So, on a day-to-day basis, I work with the individuals and teams to ensure that our current plans and strategy are being delivered.

How long have you worked for Oliver Wight?

I joined Oliver Wight in April 2019.

What did you do before joining the EAME team?

Before joining Oliver Wight I spent 15 years in the FS IT industry, followed by a couple of years as Head of Marketing at a leadership development organisation which specialised in Emotional Intelligence. I’ve seen tremendous business benefits from a tools and people perspective, and now Oliver Wight brings that together along with the processes.

What are three words that best describe you?

Organised, calm and efficient

What’s your idea of a utopian workplace?

A utopian workplace for me is one of psychological safety. Having trust and respect amongst teams to work together and be creative, without fear of criticism. When people feel empowered and confident, they are naturally more productive.

Best piece of advice you’ve ever been given?

Stay calm. Just because a project or campaign is not going perfectly, it is a chance to check-in, review and come up with a new plan of action. When panic and blame kick in, it makes the situation a million times worse.

You’re an animal for a day – what are you and why?

I'd definitely be a cat. As a mother of three, the thought of sleeping in a sunny spot and having my food made for me is heaven!

What are your interests outside of work?

I love playing netball – it’s my go to place to switch off.

What’s your favourite part of working for Oliver Wight?

The team. It’s a collective of very talented and passionate people. It’s a unique business to be involved with because of the incredible legacy from Ollie Wight himself, and it’s amazing and a real privilege to know you are part of the future journey.
